01 Discovery Phase
User Interview
The user interview phase was a pivotal step in my UX design process for the Sri Local Grocery store app. The goal was to understand the unique challenges, needs, and motivations of online grocery ordering. To identify the frustrations people experience during the process of ordering from a local grocery store, I conducted in-depth interviews with a diverse group of participants, chosen based on their age, lifestyle, and experience.
What I Aimed to learn
From the user interviews, I discovered that people struggle with the time and effort needed to travel for grocery shopping and wait in billing queues, and they appreciate the convenience, quality, and freshness offered by online grocery shopping apps.
What I Discover
Through these conversations, I found that many users lacked confidence in the payment mode. They wanted an app that was simple, easy to use, and felt like a natural part of their routine. Users expressed a desire for secure and intuitive payment options that they could trust. Additionally, they appreciated features that would streamline the ordering process, making it hassle-free and quick. Users also emphasized the importance of a user-friendly interface that could be easily navigated without any technical difficulties. Overall, these insights highlighted the need for a reliable and convenient grocery shopping experience that seamlessly integrates into their daily lives. By addressing these concerns, the Sri Local Grocery store app aims to build user confidence and satisfaction.
How It Shaped My Design:
The insights from user interviews shaped my design by emphasizing a streamlined user experience, secure and reliable payment options, time-saving features, quality and freshness assurance, reliable delivery services, personalization, and a user-friendly design that seamlessly integrates into users' daily routines. Users' concerns about payment security led me to prioritize creating intuitive and trustworthy transaction processes. Recognizing the value they place on convenience, I included features like quick reorder options and efficient search tools to save time. The feedback on the importance of product quality drove the inclusion of detailed descriptions and reviews, helping users make informed choices. Moreover, the desire for fast and accurate deliveries influenced the development of robust tracking and notification systems. By integrating these insights, the Sri Local Grocery store app is designed to provide a seamless, reliable, and user-centric shopping experience that caters to the specific needs and preferences of its users.
